Sharing my life the way I live it

Nice “intervention” episode from A&E

My husband is at work right now and I’ve got no one to bug and annoy (lol) that’s why I’m watching television right now. I’m watching “Intervention” from A and E channel and the episode today moved me away. The story is about a teenager (girl) who is used to be a good violin player but because of some family issues, she got into drugs.

She would normally spend $150 a day to buy the drugs. She got engage into stealing, issuing bad checks, selling her body just to get money. Everyone in her family was almost giving up until they want an intervention. Her mom who left their house to live in another city, went back to try and help her. Her brother, her dad, cousin’s, aunt’s and friends were all there to support her too.

She was defiant to the idea that she needs help, she even said “it’s like I’m married to my drugs and I just can’t leave it that instant”. During the day of her intervention, she walked out but gladly her interventionist followed her and talk to her. The interventionist was able to convince her to go to rehab.

I was deeply touched with the situation because, I saw a family who’s really a family. The one who stick together, who do not criticized nor abandoned the one’s that needs help. That’s a real love for me. And hence her mom also needs help (she has an eating disorder -anorexia), she also went into a rehab.

Two months later after they both got into rehab, the mom gained weight and the daughter is recovering from her addiction. Nice story, two thumbs up.
