Sharing my life the way I live it

It’s been a while since I last posted an entry here, I know “busy” word is just an excuse. There were a lot of things that I prioritized rather than taking a note here. Firstly, Carlo’s been diagnosed with high in cholesterol and the following check up was that worse, his cholesterol went down but then he’s sugar is high.

He underwent a series of test and check up and we found out that he’s diabetic. It gave me sleepless nights and I had been crying. Maybe I was over-reacting but can you blame me? But anyway, thanks to the medicine’s here..he was able to lower his sugar and we’ll just maintain his medicine. Gone were the pizza, hamburger, rice, soda and all the fatty food days..

He’s having poultry foods right now as well as veggies, some fruits, plain water and whole wheat. Now I understand why no matter how eager I want to get a 9 to 5 job, I can’t..so this is the reason. You know I do believe that everything happens for a reason.

I’m over with weariness now, in fact I’m here in the base right now, Carlo has an appointment for a nutritionist dietitian and I’m going with him so I know what to feed him too. I mean the balance diet.

So what’s up with my blogging life? I’m pretty busy with my dabawenya babe blog, been kicking some assignments there. Did you know that we were able to save from that blog? That was really a big help for our plans in the future. We do have a lot of biz plans for next year.

Anyway, I bought me 3 domains in total and I’ll try to use the FREE hosting plan from godaddy, I’ll just try if it’s good if not, I’ll get me a hosting plan. The domain was cheap, it only cost me $14+ for 2 domains and that’s a year then the other 1 was around $28 including the hosting plan.

Yeah I bought em from different domain provider, just testing the boat. The subjects on those blogs are already laid out and planned. For sure, 2 of this blogs will NOT be monetized..just an educational blog.

Times up for blog talks, I read my friends’ entry about the ‘rice issue’ way back home. Wa gud ko katulog gabii naghuna huna, I don’t know how would the people survive the scarcity and crisis there. Makahurot og dugo..haaayyyy..lisod huna hunaon.

And one thing that kept bugging me every night was, 3 of my cousins are getting married next year. Worried lang ko because they are just ordinary person’s..unya mahal na ang bugas..unsaon na lang. But I hope they’re making the right decisions….I’ll cross my fingers on that issue.

Reminiscing..

I’m in the base today. I went here with hubby. He drops me off here at the community center and I’m using one of their PC. I had a lot of reminisces when I was in McDo eating my bfast. I went there and spent an hour and a half.

Both of my parents weren’t born with a ‘golden spoon’, though they’re not considered to be the poorest but if they don’t till our farm, we have nothing to eat. My brother started working in our farm as early as 8 or 9 years old. And me, I learned to cook rice and some simple viands when I was 6. But we were happy, in fact I remember that during weekends we always go to town (we live in the province) to buy groceries, eat and shop.

A simple hotdog packs would always give me and my bro a huge smile. We both love hotdogs. Then for some reason we transferred in GenSan. It was a hard life for us on our first years in GenSan but my parents are very hardworking persons. After 5 years of living in GenSan, they were able to establish a better life for the family. Though we were tight in our budget, bro and I never stopped going to school.

So that was it, I learned how to be responsible with my actions when I first knew what earth was. Hard life taught me how to be strong and how to succeed. You know, I was growing up thinking that failure is not an option for me, this was my motivation. I stumbled of course but I managed to get back and go on. I had high hopes and everyday in my life, I was working on getting my goal. I can say that I had a promising career when I left Davao. I went here in the States because I fall in love. My husband is a very wonderful person. We have a lot of things in common. He’s a Filipino yet Americanized man. He pretty much grew up in here but I admire how he honored and paid respect to his roots. We blended right away and so I had no (as in zero) problem with my adjustment. I owe that to hubby.

Sitting at McDo made me realize and reminisce my life’s journey. You know, everything is possible. It was a realization knowing the sacrifices both my parents and I went through..I’d say, I am having a good life now. It’s not because I’m here in the States (kind a money grows on trees thinking) but because I do believe that wherever you are, as long as you have the drive to get your goal..you will succeed. I left a good career when I was in the Philippines, I was taking my Masters and even if I chose not to finish it (I lacked one exam to get the degree, I need to decide whether to get it or get here in the States) I got me a wonderful husband that is very supportive in my career. I know I have a vibrant career ahead of me and we are both planning to continue my degree.

Also, I am able to support my family (parents) without hurting our (I and hubby’s) budget. Though I’m not working full time right now, the internet has opened this huge opportunity that made me earned some extra. I’m really thankful for the blessings, I may not be perfect but I do believe in good and bad karma and the sayings that ‘what comes around goes around’.

I hope I inspired your day with my life story. Thanks for reading and have a good day :)

Correct me if I’m wrong

I’ve attended Carlo’s seminar today. He was the speaker and his topic was about “Time Management”. Our plate is full today, we had a dental appointment at Dr. Klump’s office then around 10 we went here on base (I’m in the base right now).

While my husband tackled his topic, at some point (and somehow), the term “do things right in the right way” hit me. Why? It’s because I myself practiced some (not all the time but I do sometimes) ‘manyana” habit. The one that we called “mamaya na”. And I do entertain destructors when I’m doing something, no matter how busy I am, when my CSI Miami or Cold Case is on, I paused everything just to watch these shows. It’s probably because I’m just staying at home and I’m only working part time with my sidelines. I don’t know, this is just probably one of my lame excuses.

My lecturer continued with his lecture and said that schedule and priority is a must. Prioritizing the tasks from A as the most important, B as lesser and C as the unimportant can lead to an 80% productivity. Everything he lectured and shared are all I can see and noticed of him. Being his wife, I know how dedicated he is towards his school, his family and his job.

He is so disciplined and doesn’t let any workloads to pile on his desk. I admire this attitude so much. His everyday routine when he comes home is quick rest (5 minutes) - study and do his school works (2 to 3 hours) and bedtime. Our family time is that I spend time with him in our office and in between his study time, we watch TV shows or drive for 10 to 30 minutes. No matter how redundant it may seem but he’s enjoying every bit of it.

I can’t remember that he gets late on his school paper works, not even in his office works. That’s why his lecture today inspired me and had corrected my habit. I was just a visitor of that seminar (I went with him to listen to the uhmm, and ah –some speech errors so we can correct it later on), I didn’t know that I have so much to learn. With regards to his uhmm’s nor ah’s, he didn’t have any, I’m proud to say that.

Love you hubby, it was a great experience.

A leap..by evz

Re-posted..taken from my close friend’s post…

Evz Sularte It all started from scratch. My first lesson to Chris was all about reading. When my only goal was for him to at least know how to read which is the very basic of education. The following year, his father asked me to have him learn more than his reading lesson by teaching him the basic survival skills. That time,in my mind was a big question mark on how can I ever fulfill that. I have no background on how to teach a special child esp. with regards to SPED or Special Education. And so I invented my own curriculum, made my very own unique lesson planning but still in my mind is a big question mark on how I can make things possible for Chris.

I have already shared here how tedious it has become for us the shoe-lacing session. His mood would really shift like already wanting to give up the entire tutorial session. It was tough. And I even cried out of empathy. If I were him, I wonder if I would react the same way or would I be violent because it’s really hard! Sometimes I would forget that he is a special child that I would really impose him the responsibility to really learn the lesson and would even have my voice raised though unconsciously.I swear, there were couple of times when I felt quitting for I can no longer bear the thought of seeing him having a hard time on ordinary task. He has become a part of me.

I have learned to understand and appreciate even more the gift of God to mankind which is love and concern for humanity through Chris. But still at the end of our struggle during the learning process, his smile, innocence and sweetness ease away my tension. Chris’ simple gestures of kindness always makes me wanna go on and have the positive outlook even when things seem vague and clueless.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!

My New England won the game today (and hey it’s play-off’s time). Sooo Happy :D. Congrats to them. I watch the first half but on the second half I wasn’t able to as we went out to eat. When we’re back here in our hotel (we’re out of town right now), it was last 2 minutes on the 4th quarter. So happy to look at the score 31-20, with Patriots getting the lead.

Ahhhh..I love this team :D.

being clumsy and emo

I tried composing an entry awhile ago but I accidentally hit the back button and ew, everything’s gone. I’m so clumsy that’s why..
I took medicine awhile ago, I feel like I’m going to get sick so I took meds and eat 1 mountain of rice and adobo :D, haha. The meds that I took are strong that’s why I need food in-take to keep my immune system up.

Oh well, I’m d-loading ABS-CBN shows right now, I kinda miss home. I like the shows here too but I miss the one that I’ve grown up with. But would you believe if i’ll tell you that I’m not much a tv person?! I’m not even a movie goer, all I did in the Phils was to work, go to school and sometimes..went out with friends. I had a pretty busy life there that’s why I didn’t had any hard time with the time management here in the States. I’m used to it. I’m also used to be alone, I live on after I graduated college, of course I went back and forth to gensan and davao but I never stayed in gensan too long.

I love to work, it’s my passion..I got this drive from my parents, they are both hardworking. And I terribly miss them, my bro and my nephews. I have three nephews, Wilson ( son of my sis in-law from first hubby, my bro is her second), Ken-ken (eldest son of bro) and Thym (youngest). These 3 munchkin’s are my life, I love them till death.

Whew..so much of being emo now.. so STOPPPP :D.

Hey till then, I need to go to bed..it’s 11 33pm here already. Thanks for reading.

I received an inquiry about the timeline of the visa delivery after the approval from Manila US Embassy. Well, the answer is –it varies. If the delivery is within Metro Manila, it will only take 3 to 5 working days but if it’s in the province like General Santos City, Surigao Del Sur and etc; it takes 7 and more working days. After the approval, Us Embassy staff will give an instruction that you will pay for the delivery fee of your visa. During my time, the delivery fee was P160 (hence I live in General Santos City). The UPS Delbros kiosk is adjacent to the Consul’s room, so you can see it right away. In fact, upon entering the room for Visa processors, this is located at the entrance on the left side.

After paying the visa delivery, the receipt that will be issued will have a tracking number. This tracking number is VERY IMPORTANT. This is your only mode (unless you’ve memorized/or have a back up copy) so you can track/ will know the movement of your visa package. One thing more, if you’ve written your cellphone number when you fill up the form on visa delivery info, UPS Delbros will text you about the movement of your visa delivery.

The visa imprinting/processing will take like 3 days (this is what happened to mine) then when it is ready, the Embassy will turn it over to UPS Delbros and cued for delivery.

Here’s the link where you can track your visa delivery:

Let’s talk about sports

The lost of Indianapolis Colts today came to me by surprise, I’m used to watch them beating other teams (except for my NE, Patriots of course ~they’re unbeatable hehe). But tonight, they suffered their second lost. Can you imagine they lost 2 games in a row? Whew, this is hard. But let’s admit it, P. Manning is a real good QB. They’re still even alive even they committed 5 interception.

They could have won though. If Vinatieri’s kick of the ball had went through. He has two kicks and both miss the goal. If only at least one of these kicks had gone through, they’ll win. The final score was 23 for San Diego Chargers and 21 for Indianapolis Colts.

Peyton Manning was poised to atone for those franchise-record six interceptions.

He’d moved the Indianapolis Colts well within Adam Vinatieri’s range with 1:31 left on a crazy, rainy night.

Snap, hold and … miss!

Vinatieri, who’d won two Super Bowls for New England with last-second field goals, pushed a 29-yard attempt wide right and the San Diego Chargers escaped with a wild 23-21 win over the defending Super Bowl champions on Sunday night.

“I should make that kick every time,” Vinatieri said. “There are no good excuses. I just missed it.”

Better luck next game P. Manning, hopefully your injured team mates will get healed soon. You never failed to entertain us.

Happy Birthday nanay, I love you.

Happy Birthday Nanay!!

It’s your 50th birthday today and I thank the Lord for giving me a nanay like you. You are such a great mother who is so loving and caring of her family. I appreciate everything you did for us (me and bro). I know you are a little sad that I’m not there to celebrate it with you but you know I love you so much and even if I’m far, I’m always thinking of you. I may not say I love you as often as you did but you know that I really do.

More birthdays to come ‘nay and I know how excited to see your grandkids from me, I promise you’ll see them soon (after 2 or 3 years..hehe). I love you and I want you live for another 50 years. I’ll take care of you when you get really older (don’t worry).

Enjoy your day. I LOVE YOU.

Love much,

Ging-ging (my ding dong pet name)

Nanay,

Happy birthday. We love you and we’ll see you soon. Take care.

Son,
Carlo

***footnote
My nanay is the most understanding person in the whole world. No matter how ‘maldita’ am I, she still loves me and she still says I’m the nicest, prettiest daughter (haha). It’s really true that the love of our mother (or parents, my dad too) is unconditional. I could never forget how I once stumble, made a bad decision but then instead of blaming me, she held me on her shoulders and lift me up. She did not let me go on my own until she felt that her daughter is strong again (remembering all her goodness always made me cry). She’s a supermom too. Taking care of me and bro while working double time to earn an income for the family. She’s the best nanay.

You know, if there would be a next life..I would want to request God as early as now that they will still be my parents on that next life. We may not be rich but my parents taught me (and bro) good values and brought us up with full of life and love. Thanks nanay and tatay
